Over the years I have had the opportunity to fish out of many great boats and over those years I have experienced some good and some bad, but in the end I always go back Gheenoe. The Custom Gheenoe LT25 is not your grandpa’s Gheenoe. Although Gheen Manufacturing is still building the same great boats that have made them one of the longest lasting private boat builders in the country, the new addition from Custom Gheenoe is a whole new matter.

The vessel bosts a 15 foot 11 inch hull built on the trademarked reverse chine design that makes Gheenoe the “Most Stable” small boat/skiff in it’s class. With it’s 55 inch beam and each LT25 being custom built to the buyers specifiations it makes it most versitile boat in it’s class as well. Shoot in reality it is it’s own class.

The LT25 can built litteraly in any configuration from an open format, that I have used since the first hull was popped, out to the newest “Raptor” model that flaunts an all Aluminum Raised Console and Raised Rear Drivers Seat. These boats are truly awesome and customer service from Custom Gheenoe is unmatched anywhere period.

So take a minute and check them out online or stop by the shop and tell them the boys from Reel Nerve TV sent you!

It’s that time of year! Besides spending time in the woods deer hunting it’s time to look at your ice fishing gear. There are a lot of factors to having a successful ice fishing trip but the one that tends to get me every time is not being prepared for the cold. You don’t have to get special ice fishing clothing if you already have cold weather gear for hunting then just use that. A few years back we went up to the UP of Michigan and fished with the gang from Crystal Bait and Marine. We had an awesome trip and caught more fish than you can imagine, but it would have been a long trip if we couldn’t have stayed warm. I used my Mothwing Camo Moth Gear for cold weather and my Farguson Outdoors Ice Man Tent Chair to help cut the wind from time to time and it made a world of difference. So if you are going to venture out on to the ice this year just make sure you have the right gear to keep you warm.

Over the years I have had the blessing of not only consulting Whitetail Deer Management Practices but also harvesting some really nice animals and there are many keys to success. However if there is any one key for me it this; Slow down before you ever get in the woods. I know for me that after spending a year getting ready for deer season and then add in the everyday pressures of life, the anticipation tends get me….well uptight and that carries over into the woods. Take time a few days before going to just slow down, even if it’s just mentally to think through and prepare. We get so rushed some times and trust me, it WILL carry over to the woods. Straight Shooting.
